Writing a cover letter and resume shouldn't be a monumental task for you however you do have to be adaptive in how you tailor it for each position you apply for.

What does this mean?  If you're an accountant and have worked in accounting in an insurance company but are applying for a job in a manufacturing setting - focus on the common areas between the two occupations.  If the manufacturer is looking for someone familiar with month end close, make sure that is the first thing you mention in the experience section on your resume and refer to it in your cover letter.

Simple tips like these and more professional job search guidance is available here.

Write a resume that is honest and accurately reflects your accomplishments and then you'll be able to hand it to friends and relatives and they'll be able to talk you up to potential employers and other friends.

Here's a hint - if you dumb down your resume a bit you can leave your friends wiggle room to talk you up above what you've written without having to worry about them over-doing it and setting expectations that you'll never be able to meet.  Click here for more resume writing and other job search tips.

I hadn't thought about it before, but before I run out and buy a wireless printer I think I'm going to stick with my klunky old usb printer cable for a little while longer.  USB printer cables may be outdated but you know what? Printer cables are more secure than wireless devices... something to think about, no?
